By using the Self-sufficiency Matrix, social workers and policy makers can gain insight into the degree to which residents can care for themselves. Currently, this is mostly done through surveys.
In collaboration with the Municipality of Utrecht and two universities, we have developed an application that provides insight into the self-sufficiency of citizens per district level. The dashboard of the application provides insight into what issues are going on and what the severity is of these problems.
Through combining open data sets, Municipality data and purchased data, we can monitor trends over time per domain level (e.g. Work & Income or Informal care). This provides handles for policy staff to adjust steering. Because context information (e.g. composition of the neighbourhood) will also be displayed, social workers can determine how to deal with problems.
